Frequently Asked Questions
What are the primary applications of PEEK sheets?
PEEK sheets are widely used in demanding industries such as aviation, machinery, electronics, chemical processing, and automotive. They are ideal for manufacturing high-performance insulation materials, gears, bearings, bushes, valves, and other wear-resistant components.
What is the continuous operating temperature limit for PEEK?
PEEK exhibits exceptional thermal stability and can maintain its mechanical properties during continuous long-term use at temperatures up to 260℃.
How does PEEK perform in high-moisture or high-pressure steam environments?
PEEK has excellent hydrolysis resistance, meaning it maintains low water absorption (0.20% for PEEK-1000) and keeps its structural integrity in high-temperature water and high-pressure steam environments.
What are the differences between PEEK-1000, PEEK-CA30, and PEEK-GF30?
PEEK-1000 is virgin PEEK offering optimal ductility and toughness. PEEK-CA30 is reinforced with 30% carbon fiber, offering higher tensile strength and stiffness. PEEK-GF30 is reinforced with 30% glass fiber, providing excellent electrical insulation and high structural stability.
What standard sizes of PEEK sheets and rods are available?
PEEK sheets are standardly available in thicknesses ranging from 6mm to 100mm, with a width of 600mm and a length of 1000mm. PEEK rods are available in diameters from 6mm to 150mm and lengths of 1000mm or 2000mm.
Does PEEK have flame retardant properties?
Yes, PEEK is inherently flame retardant and can achieve the highest flame retardancy standards without the addition of flame-retardant additives.
