Wholesale Polyethylene PE1000 Sheet - UHMWPE Impact-Resistant sheet Supplier, Suppliers

Product Description

Description

Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE, PE1000) is a subset of the thermoplastic polyethylene. UHMWPE sheet has extremely long chains, with a molecular mass usually between 3 and 9 million amu. The longer chain serves to transfer load more effectively to the polymer backbone by strengthening intermolecular interactions. This results in a very tough material, with the highest impact strength of any thermoplastic presently made.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: What makes UHMWPE (PE1000) sheets different from regular polyethylene?

UHMWPE has extremely long molecular chains with a molecular mass between 3 to 9 million amu. This high molecular weight transfers loads more effectively to the polymer backbone, giving it the highest impact strength and toughness of any thermoplastic material.

Q2: How does UHMWPE perform under extreme wear and abrasive conditions?

UHMWPE sheets feature exceptionally high abrasion and wear resistance along with a very low coefficient of friction. This makes them ideal for demanding sliding, lining, and conveying applications where friction reduction is critical.

Q3: Are UHMWPE sheets suitable for low-temperature environments?

Yes, UHMWPE retains excellent impact resistance even at extremely low temperatures, preventing fracturing and maintaining mechanical properties where other plastics fail.

Q4: Is the material resistant to water and chemicals?

UHMWPE has near-zero moisture absorption (≤0.01% via ASTM D-570 testing) and is highly resistant to corrosive chemicals, with the exception of strong oxidizing acids.

Q5: Can UHMWPE sheets be customized in terms of dimensions and color?

We offer standard sizes ranging from 1200x3000mm up to 2100x6100mm, with thicknesses from 10mm to 200mm. Regular colors include white, black, blue, and green, and we can accommodate specific custom requirements.

Q6: Can UHMWPE be used in the food and medical industries?

Absolutely. UHMWPE is completely odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. It is widely used in food processing machinery (such as guides, bearings, and rollers) and medical equipment (like prostheses and artificial joints).
